My Aunty Linda

On the 25th of April, 1915, Australian and New Zealand Soldiers were landed and killed on the Gallipoli Penninsula. Saturday marked the 100th anniversary.

– Lest We Forget –

When I was young I loved to bus up to my Aunty Linda’s place in the school holidays. I loved going there because Aunty Linda was always making something. She taught me how to make recycled paper, home-made soap, salt dough, concrete garden sculptures; she taught me how to sew, knit, solder, etch glass… and the list goes on. Aunty Linda is a talented lady who is still always making something. This weekend when I visited her she was making ANZAC commemoration cushions (available for purchase here).
